Happy Friday! Here is our family update for January 24, 2025:

Important Reminders:

Our school as well as all district schools and offices are scent-free environments. This includes perfumes, body sprays, and essential oils. Weather – We play outside every day from 7:40-8:05, 10:15-10:35, and 12:40-1:00. If the temperature with or without windchill, is below -20 degrees, we will not play outside. Please make sure that your child arrives at school ready for outdoor play (snowpants, boots, coat, hat, mittens/gloves). We understand that some children need to put their coats on once they remove their car seat harness, however, they need to be wearing their snowpants.

Pizza – Parents/guardians should now be able to order pizza for next Wednesday. Orders can be placed between Thursday morning and Sunday at midnight through SchoolCash Online.

Early morning drop-off: There is staff on duty for early morning drop-off from 7:40-8:20. If you arrive after 8:20, please ensure that your child enters the school before you leave. This is to ensure your child’s safety.

Library Reminder: Please ensure that your child returns their library book each week on or before their scheduled library period. This will enable your child to choose a new book each week to share at home. We would like to welcome Sari MacFarlane (sari.macfarlane@nbed.nb.ca) as our new librarian. For those who do not know, Mrs Williams retired in December 2024.

Upcoming Events:

Monday, January 27^th, is Family Literacy Day. We will be having a “Snuggle up and read” event with all students in the gym. Students are encouraged to wear their pajamas and to bring their favourite book to share.

Tuesday, January 28^th: PSSC Meeting at 6pm. Any interested parents/guardians are welcome to attend the meeting as observers.

Wednesday, January 29^th: CUB Assembly at 11:15am

Wednesday, February 12^th: Welcome to Kindergarten 3:30-4:30. We are looking forward to meeting our incoming kindergarten students. We will be sharing activities to build connections and modeling some kindergarten activities. Parents and children will have an opportunity to meet several school staff as well as some other families.
